Recording work hours in RemoFirst may seem like a simple administrative task. You enter the time worked, save the information, and move on.
However, saving a timesheet doesn’t necessarily send it to your manager.
RemoFirst separates saving, submitting, reviewing, and resubmitting into different stages. Understanding those stages helps avoid incomplete records and unnecessary corrections.
Where to Find Your Timesheets
RemoFirst provides a dedicated Timesheets section in its worker application.
Open the section and locate the To Submit tab.
For supported arrangements, RemoFirst automatically creates timesheets covering the appropriate reporting periods.
This is an important detail: you generally shouldn’t create another timesheet when the correct period already exists.
Instead, open the existing record and complete it.
Entering Your Work Hours
Each timesheet contains daily entries for the selected period.
RemoFirst asks for a start time, finish time, and task category.
Available categories include Regular Hours, Overtime, On-call, Night Shift, Weekend Work, and several types of leave.
You can also add an optional note explaining the activity.
For example, a brief description can help distinguish ordinary work from a specific assignment or training activity.
The categories available should be used according to the actual work performed and applicable company requirements.
Weekend Hours May Be Hidden
One easily missed feature is Show weekend.
RemoFirst’s official instructions specifically tell workers to use this option when recording work performed during weekends.
If Saturday or Sunday isn’t immediately visible, check whether the weekend display is enabled.
Don’t place weekend work under a different date simply because the appropriate day isn’t shown.
Saving Without Submitting
RemoFirst includes a Save option.
This stores the information you’ve entered without sending the timesheet for review.
The record remains in To Submit.
Your manager doesn’t receive the normal submission notification, and you can return to make further changes.
This is useful when you’re recording hours gradually throughout the reporting period.
However, a saved timesheet is still unfinished from the approval workflow’s perspective.
What Changes When You Submit?
When the timesheet is complete, select Submit.
RemoFirst changes its status from To Submit to Pending.
The submission is sent for review, and the responsible manager receives a notification.
At this point, the record has entered a different stage.
Don’t confuse a successfully saved draft with a pending timesheet awaiting review.
Who Can Review a Timesheet?
RemoFirst restricts employee timesheet review permissions.
According to its documentation, the assigned Direct Manager and Company Owners can view, approve, or reject submitted timesheets.
The reviewer can examine daily hours, task types, and notes.
Authorized reviewers can also edit submitted entries before approving them.
This means a manager may correct a record directly rather than rejecting it, depending on the situation.
What Does Rejected Mean?
A rejected timesheet isn’t necessarily a technical failure.
It means the reviewer identified information requiring correction or clarification.
RemoFirst requires the reviewer to provide a rejection reason.
The worker receives a notification, and the record changes to Rejected.
The reason appears alongside the timesheet so the worker can understand what needs attention.
How Resubmission Works
If your timesheet is rejected, return to the Timesheets section.
Open the rejected record and review the manager’s feedback.
Correct the relevant hours, task categories, or notes.
Then select Resubmit.
RemoFirst notifies the reviewer that the corrected timesheet is ready for another review.
Resubmit isn’t the same as creating a new timesheet. It continues the correction process for the existing record.
Why Can’t You Change the Reporting Dates?
RemoFirst automatically generates timesheet periods for certain workers based on the applicable country-specific schedule.
For these records, the start and end dates are locked.
You can complete the entries within the period, but you cannot manually change its boundaries.
If the reporting period appears incorrect, don’t attempt to work around the restriction by creating duplicate records.
Ask the appropriate company contact to clarify the assigned period.
What Does Approved Mean?
Once the reviewer accepts the timesheet, its status changes to Approved.
RemoFirst moves the record to the Approved tab and sends a notification.
This confirms that the submitted work record has completed the manager-review stage.
If you later discover an error in an approved record, contact the responsible manager rather than assuming the normal Resubmit option will remain available.
Avoiding Common Timesheet Problems
Before submitting, review the dates, daily hours, task categories, and any relevant notes.
Check whether weekend entries are required.
Make sure you haven’t accidentally left a completed timesheet in To Submit.
If a record is rejected, read the explanation before making changes.
Repeatedly submitting unchanged information won’t address the underlying discrepancy.
Three Actions, Three Different Results
RemoFirst’s timesheet workflow is straightforward once the statuses are understood.
Save keeps an editable record without initiating review.
Submit sends the completed record to the responsible reviewer.
Resubmit returns a corrected, previously rejected record for another decision.
The distinction is especially useful for workers recording time across several days.
When using RemoFirst Timesheets, don’t judge completion by whether your hours appear on the screen. Check the record’s status. A saved timesheet still needs submission, a pending timesheet awaits review, and a rejected timesheet needs correction before it can be approved.
